Wild Game: Leopard Print

Confession: I have a leopard obsession…

Charging_Leopard-001For me, leopard is an instant confidence booster. I agree with Rachel Zoe: “I think every woman should have leopard, but not every woman will wear leopard. You have to have courage to wear leopard.”

20130128-125520.jpgCourage: this knee-length, pleated, chiffon tea dress is living proof that leopard can be done with taste and class. Details include: a round neckline, sleeveless styling, a fine woven main and beaded design, an elasticized high waist, a flared skirt with accordion pleating, and a v-shaped back.

20130128-125525.jpgSince I wanted the attention to be on the bold, leopard print, I kept everything else simple in sleek, understated black – black nails, black blazer, black tights, black heels. That means I had to up the ante elsewhere, and I delegated that task to a pair of vintage, gold statement earrings.

20130128-125529.jpgIn the words of Oscar de la Renta, “Walk like you have three men walking behind you.” Few occasions in life can justify a skimpy, animal print mini-dress that leaves nothing to the imagination…and the difference lies in taste. Do it with leopard, but most importantly, do it with class.
