I must hand it to Victoria Beckham, because no one else quite rocks the sheath dress like she does. Although, the ever-so-lovely Kate Middleton gives her a run for her money. It’s been so refreshing to see lower hemlines and higher necklines making their appearance onto ‘Best Dressed Lists’ and the Brits are definitely leading the way!
My work staples have now included a number of sheath dresses. Sheath dresses make the best work-to-night pieces and finding one in a great neutral tone makes it easily versatile for a variety of occasions. Banana Republic has been one of my favorite retailers to find affordable yet high-quality dresses that can work for women of all ages. Case in point, this giraffe print sheath dress actually belongs to my mom! A darker-hued belt made this sheath dress more form-flattering and a binder clip, per Phoebe’s suggestion, was an easy fix to an oversized belt. Neutrals made this dress the perfect canvas to mix patterns and textures. The contrast of loose-knits paired with structured-dresses has been a longtime favorite of mine. Simple accessories include a classic structured purse, strappy sandals and delicate gold jewelry (Dogeared bracelets have made some of my favorites), all of which allows the giraffe’s voice to take center stage.
