3 Best Scrubs for Winter

All of this drying weather has taken a toll on my skin. My nose is red, lips are chapped, knees are dry, and the list goes on and on. My skin just looks dull and flat. I feel like there’s an unflattering grey-tinge to my complexion and I would just about do anything for a tan right now! However, I’ve found that by adding a slew of salt scrubs into my beauty routine, these little crystals have really packed a punch and have sloughed away all that dead skin. Your skin is the largest organ of your body yet we often forget that it needs the same amount of TLC that we give to our heart! All-in-alll, I’ve been loving the results (and all of the compliments!) as my skin feels rejuvenated and has been sporting a healthy glow that you’ll find that people can’t help but notice.

1. Origins Ginger Body Scrub $28

This product has the most delicious and invigorating citrus scent. I was worried at first that the ginger would be overpowering but it’s been a wonderful addition to my morning routine. I feel charged and ready to go to work when I shower in the mornings and it has a wonderful spa-quality aroma to it that makes it just as soothing to work itself into your nightly ritual.

2. Fresh Sugar Lip Polish $22.50

I’ve used several other lip sugars (aka cheaper versions) and in the end not only did I just waste my money but I had a small outbreak of acne near my lip area because a lot of the products I used had this oily base to it. Fresh’s Sugar Lip Polish is anything but oily! A little really will go a long way, and it’s an absolute essential for all of you lipstick-lovers out there. Feathery, cracked lip-lines are so-not-cute and why should anything take away from your new lipstick! This product is gentle enough to use every day and it smells and tastes just like candy – without the added calories.

3. Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub $6.59

This gentle exfoliant helps improve your skin tone as it refines the dead skin away to reveal a brighter and more radiant look. Gentle moisture-rich soy extracts make this a great every-day product and I’ve used this to get rid of any oil/dirt build-up that commonly occurs in my T-Zone area. This has been great in getting rid of all that dead skin around my nose from colds, allergies, and dryness that occurs with these wintry months and its light citrus scent makes it a great morning pick-me-up.
