I apologize for my absence in the month of March, but we will have a quadruple serving of literary food this month in the form of a book series!
In our lives, there may have been many friends that have come and gone. Sometimes people slowly drift apart and other times there may have been some big fall out that causes an irreconcilable rift. The book(s) of the month, I have chosen is actually a reflection of what has been on my mind these past few weeks. Good friends are hard to come by, but to find that one friend that will stick through it all is like finding the sister you never knew you had.
I first read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants when I was Sophomore in high school, but recently I decided on a whim to pick it up again. It’s the story of four girls whose mothers all bonded when they went to the same aerobics class for pregnant women. The girls grow up as childhood friends and one summer they find a magical pair of jeans that manages to fit all four of them perfectly. And, so begins the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
The story of four friends who stick with each other through their transitions in life resonated with me and I began to think about my own sisterhood. From breakups to family tragedies, my sisterhood has been there for me and each other. This book is a celebration of friendship in its purest form.
