We’ve all had those grueling workouts where you just know your body is going to hate you for it the next day. A saying goes that you can tell your age by how fast your body recovers, if this is true…I would say I’m embarrassingly far beyond my present-day twenties. But practice makes perfect and getting back on that grind becomes less painful, and becomes more gratifying, once it comes habitual. Unfortunately, it’s getting to that habitual stage that’s the most painful. I mean the term “dragging your ass to the gym” has to come from somewhere! I literally have had to subconsciously trick myself that I’m going to the mall instead, in order to drag my bum off the couch (and from Chopped on Food Network ) to drive to the gym.
What I’ve found to make my workouts more bearable is to bribe myself with a tasty reward post-gym. What’s great about this shake is that not only does it taste like a milkshake but it also satisfies both my salty and sweet taste buds – so say goodbye to cravings! You’d be surprised of how good this shake tastes and its even better because it’s completely guilt-free. This high-carb-protein shake is not only delicious but also an effective recovery drink. PB & Chocolate Recovery Shake
- 1- 1 1/2 cups of Low-Fat Chocolate Milk
- 2 tablespoons of Peanut Butter (I prefer crunchy)
- 2-3 Ice Cubes (depending on your preference)
- 1 medium-large sized banana
- Add all the ingredients into your blender
- Blend and pour into a glass
- Enjoy and relax because you deserve it!
